Special Notices
Dear members of SAW,

Some say that change is good for individuals (and probably, even for organizations). Some say that change is inevitable. Change is the one thing that has been a highlight for the past 9 months in SAW. We are now to the point where we think we might be reaching a state of equilibrium.

The Board recently had to deal with the resignation of Mr. John Nelson due to health reasons. He had recently been elected to the board, but found that he is unable to continue.

Fortunately, at about the same time, we received inquiries from three SAW members asking if there were openings for volunteers to be on the Board.

At our Board of Directors meeting, held on Tueday, February 14, all three volunteers were appointed to the Board, bringing the membership up to the full complement of 5.

New members of the board include:

Mr. Hal Shearer of Orem, Utah.

Mr. Bradly Anderson of Pomona, California

Ms. Misty Valestin of Simpson, Illinois.

In Board officer elections following their appointments, Bob King was reelected president; Misty Valestin was elected vice-president, and Hal Shearer was elected as the secretary / treasurer.

The 5 members of the Board are excited about the future of SAW. There are many areas of interest which we want to address. We won't be able to do them all at once, but look for positive changes in SAW occurring on a regular basis.

Sincerely,
Bob King, SAW president

Local Chapters are in place or are being founded in many areas of  the country. Members of Chapters are the enthusiastically addicted scrollers from a geographic area. All scrollers are invited to join and share their knowledge with the group. New scrollers can learn from the combined experience of the group's members. This is your opportunity to join in and explore the advantages of membership in this growing and vital Association.

Your membership will immediately give you a subscription to our quarterly newsletter, SAW Dust, and a copy of our current annual Resource Directory. These publications will enhance your scrolling, enlarge your community, and give you a valuable start to learning more about this wonderful craft. You can explore many of these benefits on these pages, but you will not have the full benefit of membership until you join the Scrollsaw Association of the World.

Join now and become a part of this growing community!
